EUBANKS INTRODUCES NEW "AIR
LINE"
|
|
New Eubanks AirLine of seven application-specific, high-powered pneumatic wire strippers promise significant advances in both cost and performance. |
MONROVIA, Calif., February 27, 2001-Eubanks Engineering Co., a leading manufacturer of wire processing equipment, today introduced a new series of seven air-powered wire stripping machines geared for high-volume users.
Called the Eubanks AirLine, the new wire-stripper family incorporates significant new hardware and software technology that "provides unmatched raw power and speed only possible with compressed air plus the ease of use and fast set up that's required for short-run applications," according to Phil McNamee, Eubanks's manager of engineering.
"We've increased air flow 20 percent so that our pneumatic machines have significantly more stripping power for today's tougher insulation. They run faster and can handle more volume and a wider variety of wire materials.
"Sometimes you just need air power to be able to yank off tough insulation. Our pneumatic wire strippers provide the high production rate required for high-volume applications. The new AirLine complements our electric programmable line which is geared more for short-run, quick-change batch operation," McNamee added.

Proprietary blade and cuttinghead technology pays off for users by increasing cutting power, quality and long life. |
All Eubanks AirLine machines are microprocessor controlled. They have been beefed up with heavy-duty valves, hoses and fittings for tough operation, while new human-engineering features have been added to make set up faster and operation easier. New built-in machine diagnostics let operators and floor managers know problems in advance so they can quickly take remedial steps and optimize uptime.
Each of the machines offers increased storage capacity to handle up to 1000 programs containing separate piece length, batch quantity, measuring increments and mark spacing combinations. Being software driven, upgrades can be made by customers in the field simply by switching out the EPROM chip.
In response to international demand, operators can use the keyboard to display machine instructions in any of six languages-English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish. Each machine has universal AC power for easy conversion from 110V to 220V.

AirStrip 2700 Eubanks's new AirStrip 2700 cuts and strips
wide variety of wire types at speeds up to 10,800 pieces per hour. |
The flagship stripper is the versatile AirStrip 2700, which can cut and strip both single- and multiple-conductor wire and nearly all types of insulation materials at remarkably high speeds. Depending on the type of wire, the production rate for two-inch pieces can reach volume rates of 10,800 pieces per hour. Wire sizes can range in thickness from 32 AWG up to 8 AWG.
The other six models in the AirLine family have been adapted to handle specific applications. AirStrip 2715 has been designed to cut and strip fiber optic cable, including cutting through the tough, protective Kevlar insulation. AirStrip 2745 and 4150 are built to cut various sizes of steel cable that is so strong that it is often used in security applications designed specifically to keep people from cutting it.

AirStrip 4000 Special tandem cutterhead on Eubanks's new AirStrip 4000 enables strip lengths to be up to nine inches (229cm) long. It is ideal for stripping tough power cords. |
AirStrip 2800 is built to cut and strip solid-conductor wire often used in high volume solderless wire-wrap applications. AirStrip 2900 is specifically designed for cutting battery cable and multi-conductor communication and power cables up to nearly one-half inch thick. AirStrip 4000 is a tandem cutter-head machine for handling long strip lengths up to nine inches from equally thick cable.
The Eubanks AirLine machines start at $9,995 and availability is three weeks ARO.
About Eubanks Engineering Co.
An innovator in design and manufacturing for more than 40 years, Eubanks offers a comprehensive line of wire processing equipment for cutting, stripping and marking wire and cables worldwide. Its programmable and pneumatic wire strippers allow users maximum flexibility in setting wire length, strip length and wire size.
Eubanks wire marking machines mark wire and tubing clearly and permanently through the use of marking foil and heated printing discs. Computer controlled, automatic and manual models are available that perform a wide-range of functions from marking only to feeding, marking, cutting and stripping wire. An optional spark tester is also available with most models.
In addition, Eubanks offers a full line of wire processing accessories, ranging from prefeeds and stackers to cabinet bases and coiling pans.
